Sustainability

We LOVE nature. We are so grateful for this beautiful world and we desire to be good stewards of this planet. This is why at Wildflower Simplicity we take every step we can to minimize our effects on the environment.

Here are some of the things we do!

  • We love to use locally grown flowers whenever possible. The shorter the transport distance the lower the carbon emissions will be. Additionally, the longer flowers travel, the more resources it takes for them to remain fresh. Think refrigerators on airplanes...

  • We strive to use primary flowers that are currently in season. If the flowers are not in season, then they may have to be imported from another country, increasing the impact.

  • We enjoy being creative in finding ways to re-purpose the flowers, reducing the amount of flowers needed for an event. This can be something as simple as taking flowers from a wedding ceremony that we hang on aisle chairs and making them into beautiful table pieces for the after party.

  • We love sharing the love. Flowers that are not needed after an event, we can donate to local elderly homes to give them enjoyment.

  • We seek to use organic materials in our arrangements that won’t harm the environment and that are more biodegradable. Where possible we use recyclable materials, always opting for glass over plastics and minimize our use of floral foam.

  • We fancy exploring for pre-loved items that are in great condition to style your events. Think of all the vases out there! This saves the environment and labor effects caused in the production of items and gives a joyful second life.

  • We also compost our stem trimmings to return nutrients to the land.
